54Acting Managing Director

#### 54 Acting Managing Director (1) The Board may appoint a person (other than a member) to act as Managing Director: (a) during a vacancy in the office of Managing Director (whether or not an appointment has previously been made to the office); or (b) during any period, or during all periods, when the Managing Director is absent from duty or from Australia or is, for any other reason, unable to perform the duties of the office. > Note: For rules that apply to acting appointments, see section 33A of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901. (6) A person appointed to act as Managing Director may resign the appointment by writing signed by the person and delivered to the Chairperson.
