Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does

This regulation is a simple housekeeping measure that cancels (repeals) earlier defence regulations made earlier in 1988.

Key details

Target: Statutory Rules 1988 No. 18 (the Defence (General) Regulations made earlier that year)
Effect: Those earlier regulations are completely removed from the law books
Why: Regulations are often repealed when they are replaced, consolidated, or found to be unnecessary

Who it affects Primarily affects the Australian Defence Force and defence administration, as it removes specific regulatory rules that applied to defence matters. For the general public, this represents a cleanup of the statute book with no direct practical impact unless you were specifically relying on the repealed regulations.
