Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

Rifle clubs affiliated with the National Rifle Association of Australia can sell alcohol at their canteens during competitions or practice to Defence Force members or fellow rifle club members without needing a state or territory liquor licence. Sales are only allowed with written approval from the Defence Department’s Regional Secretary, a permission that cannot be delegated. This eases drink service at ranges while keeping centralised Defence oversight.
