I, GREG COMBET, Minister for Defence Personnel, Materiel and Science for the Minister for Defence, make this Declaration under subsection 3C (1) of the Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990.

1 Name of Declaration

This Declaration is the Warlike service – OPERATION SLIPPER Declaration 2009/2.

2 Commencement

This Declaration is taken to have commenced on 31 July 2009.

3 Warlike service – OPERATION SLIPPER

For subsection 3C (1) of the Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990, duty is warlike service if it is rendered:

(a) in the specified area bounded by the following coordinates:

39 00N 78 00E

39 00N 32 00E

05 00S 32 00E

05 00S 78 00E

(b) as a member of the Australian Defence Force allotted for duty on OPERATION SLIPPER.
