7Accommodation of detainees

#### 7 Accommodation of detainees (1) Every detainee shall, as far as practicable, be accommodated in a separate cell. (2) Where it is not practicable to provide every detainee with a separate cell, there shall be not less than 3 detainees accommodated in each cell containing more than one detainee. (3) Every detainee shall be provided with a separate bed. (4) Every cell shall: (a) be of such a size and be provided with such heating, lighting, ventilation and equipment as is necessary for the preservation of the physical and mental health of a detainee; and (b) be provided with a means of enabling a detainee to express at any time a wish to communicate with a member of the staff.
