#### 3 Interpretation
In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:
> member of the staff has the same meaning as in Part XA of the Act.
> officer cadet means an officer who holds:
(a) in the Navy—the rank of midshipman; or
(b) in the Army or the Air Force—the rank of officer cadet.
> the Act means the Defence Force Discipline Act 1982.
