127 Appointment of Defence Force magistrates
(1) The Judge Advocate General may, by instrument in writing, appoint officers to be Defence Force magistrates.
(1A) An appointment under subsection (1) is on a part‑time basis.
(2) An officer is not eligible to be a Defence Force magistrate unless the officer is a member of the judge advocates’ panel.
Note: A member of the judge advocates’ panel is appointed for a maximum period of 5 years but is eligible for reappointment: see subsection 196(2A).
