Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What it does This law takes £3,494,733 from the government's main bank account (the Consolidated Revenue Fund) and puts it into a special Defence Equipment Trust Account.

Why it matters The money is specifically earmarked for buying military equipment. The trust account was created by an earlier law (the Defence Equipment Act 1934) to keep defence spending separate from other government money.

Who it affects

The Treasury: must release the funds
The Defence Department: receives the money to purchase equipment
The military: benefits from the new equipment bought with these funds

The bottom line This is a simple "money bill"—it appropriates (formally allocates) a specific lump sum for defence purposes. It contains no rules, restrictions, or conditions on how the equipment is bought, other than placing the money in the designated trust account.
