Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act authorises the Australian Government to spend £2 million (in 1936 currency) from the national budget on defence and aviation.

Specifically:

£1.8 million goes to the Defence Equipment Trust Account for building naval ships and other military equipment
£200,000 goes to the Civil Aviation Trust Account to support the development of civilian aviation

This is what's known as an appropriation Act — it simply gives the government legal permission to withdraw and spend this money from the Consolidated Revenue Fund (Australia's main government bank account). The Act does not create new rules or regulations; it just unlocks the funds.
