Tasmania act
This Act amends the Defamation Act 2005 by incorporating a series of amendments into the authorised version (ss 4–15). It commences on Royal Assent (s2) and formally refers to the Defamation Act 2005 as the Principal Act (s3).
It repeals itself one year after commencement (s16). Plaintiffs, defendants and publishers in defamation cases are affected; the Act contains no substantive amendment text in the instrument itself, so parties must consult the authorised version for the detail and operate within a one-year implementation window.
