Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

The instrument formally recognises the Australian Peak Shippers Association as the designated national representative for businesses exporting goods by sea, covering outbound shipping services. It gives the Association authority to negotiate freight rates and contract terms with international shipping conferences on behalf of Australian exporters, and revokes any earlier declarations to avoid overlap. This secures a unified negotiating voice for exporters.
