Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This instrument creates a single rule for aircraft maintenance engineers licensed in Papua New Guinea (PNG). If you obtained your PNG aircraft maintenance engineer licence after 1 March 1992, you must pass the Australian Administration Airworthiness (AA) Examination.

Who it affects:

Aircraft maintenance engineers who hold licences issued by Papua New Guinea after 1 March 1992
These engineers if they want to work on Australian aircraft or under Australian aviation law

Why it matters: Even though PNG licences are recognised in Australia, this rule ensures these specific engineers understand Australian airworthiness administration rules. It acts as a knowledge check to make sure they are familiar with local safety regulations before performing maintenance in Australia.
