### 16 When discharge of declaration takes effect
> An order under [section 15(1)(a)](#GS15@Gs1@Hpa@EN) discharging a declaration does not take effect –
>
> > > (a) if no appeal is lodged under [section 19(3)](#GS19@Gs3@EN) in relation to the order – until the end of the period during which an appeal may be made in relation to the order; or
> >
> > > (b) if an appeal is lodged under [section 19(3)](#GS19@Gs3@EN) – until the appeal is dismissed, withdrawn or discontinued.
