Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act retroactively validates customs duties demanded or collected between 1 May and 31 December 1980 under temporary tariff proposals, treating those collections as lawful even if the Act itself passed later.

It protects government revenue and prevents importers who paid those duties during that six‑month window from successfully challenging their validity.
