Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This short Act cures a technical defect in how customs duties on goods from New Zealand were charged between November 1940 and July 1941. It retroactively validates duties collected under temporary tariff proposals before the permanent law took effect, preventing importers from claiming refunds and protecting government revenue tied to wartime New Zealand trade preferences.
