1 Name

This instrument is the Customs (Customs Place—Christmas Island) Approval 2026.

2 Commencement

This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

3 Authority

This instrument is made under subsection 183UA(2) of the Customs Act 1901 (C.I.).

4 Definitions

In this instrument:

Act means the Customs Act 1901 (C.I.).

Customs place has the same meaning as in subsection 183UA(1) of the Act.

Note: The Customs Act 1901 (C.I.) is the Customs Act 1901 as modified by the Customs Ordinance 1993 (C.I.).

5 Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

6 Approval of Customs place

For the purposes of paragraph 183UA(1)(f) of the Act, the Christmas Island Post Office located at 3 Jalan Pantai, Christmas Island, Western Australia, with the postcode 6798, is a Customs place.
