Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This instrument sets the exact data format for electronic warehouse declarations (form N20), acting as the master template importers, customs brokers and carriers must use to put goods into a licensed warehouse. It prescribes 178 data items covering identity, goods description and value, transport and arrival details, and an extensive safety/compliance checklist for prohibited or restricted goods. It matters because using this approved format is mandatory: the declaration triggers duty valuation, security screening and the conditions for release into the Australian market.
