Commonwealth legislation
This Determination sets the standard composition of Five‑cent, Ten‑cent, Twenty‑cent and Two‑dollar coins to “At least 99.99% gold” and records technical specifications (standard weight, allowable variation, dimensions and design) in Schedule 1 (ss4–5). It affects the Royal Australian Mint and anyone issuing or producing these denominations: the Mint decides production and bears minting costs of high‑purity gold coins; purchasers/collectors face valuation and pricing changes. Existing determinations remain unaffected (s4(2); s6).
