This Determination adds a Five dollar coin to the Currency Act schedule and sets its standard composition as “not less than 99.9% silver and 23ct gold.” Schedule 1 (referenced by the Determination) supplies the coin’s weight, allowable variation, dimensions and design. It takes effect the day after registration and mechanically defines what the Royal Australian Mint may produce and how that coin will be specified for legal‑tender and market purposes.
