Tasmania regulation
These regulations set how rent is calculated for replacement leases of ‘shack sites’ under the Crown Lands (Shack Sites) Act 1997. For the 2010 rental year rent is the lesser of $1,500 or 2% of the site’s 2007 land value; in later years the rent is adjusted annually by the Hobart Consumer Price Index.
The rules make leaseholders pay the amounts determined by the Valuer‑General’s 2007 valuation and the Hobart CPI, removing discretionary annual rate-setting by administrators.
