Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

These Regulations list which foreign and international law-enforcement bodies may receive spent-conviction information and create narrow exemptions to the Northern Territory Act’s non-disclosure rules. They let the Northern Territory Police share spent-record information with the Australian Crime Commission for the National Police Reference System and exclude certain licensing decisions under the Private Security Act from the Act’s non-disclosure restriction. They affect people with spent convictions, police, and the named agencies because they change when spent convictions may be disclosed for law-enforcement or licensing checks.
