15 Employment in certain occupations
> > (1) Section 12 does not apply in relation to an application by a person for appointment or employment as a judge, justice of the peace, police officer, member of staff of Corrective Services NSW (within the meaning of the [Crimes (Administration of Sentences) Act 1999](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1999-093)), or the Office of the Sheriff, Department of Communities and Justice, teacher or teachers aide.

> > (1A) Section 12 does not apply in relation to an application by a person for a clearance under, or to the risk assessment of the holder of a clearance under, the [Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2012-051), the [National Disability Insurance Scheme (Worker Checks) Act 2018](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2018-082) or a law of another State or Territory that corresponds to either of those Acts.

> > (2) Section 12 does not apply in relation to a conviction of a person for arson or attempted arson if the person seeks to be appointed or employed in fire fighting or fire prevention.
