387M Division does not affect other provisions This Division is in addition to the other provisions of this Part and of the **Evidence Act 2008** and does not, unless the contrary intention appears, affect the operation of those provisions or that Act. **Examples** This Division does not affect— • Division 2, which provides for restrictions on the admissibility of evidence about a complainant in criminal proceedings for sexual offences; • section 65 of the **Evidence Act 2008**, which is an exception to the hearsay rule if a person is not available to give evidence; • Part  of the **Evidence Act 2008**, which deals with various privileges in relation to evidence.
