253A Abolition of allocutus The common law procedure of administering the allocutus is abolished. Administering the allocutus is the step in a criminal proceeding which occurs when, after a plea of guilty or a finding of guilt by the jury, the court asks the accused whether there is any reason why the court should not proceed to pass judgment according to law. S. 253B inserted by No. 30/2010 s. 62, amended by No. 48/2012 s. 15.
