220 Form of plea of previous conviction or previous acquittal (1) In a plea of previous conviction, it is sufficient for an accused to state that the accused has been lawfully convicted of the offence charged in the indictment. (2) In a plea of previous acquittal, it is sufficient for an accused to state that the accused has been lawfully acquitted of the offence charged in the indictment. (3) Subject to Chapter 7A, the rules of common law with respect to autrefois convict and autrefois acquit continue in force in respect of pleas of previous conviction and previous acquittal, respectively.
