136 Accused who absconds etc. during a committal hearing If, during a committal hearing, an accused— (a) absconds; or (b) behaves in a manner necessitating the removal of the accused from the courtroom and the Magistrates' Court orders the accused to be removed; or (c) is absent for any other reason without the permission of the court— the Magistrates' Court may continue the committal hearing in the absence of the accused if the court considers that the committal hearing cannot be postponed without undue prejudice or inconvenience to the prosecution or any other accused or any witness.
