45 Application of Chapter and definitions
> > (1) This Chapter applies to or in respect of proceedings for indictable offences (other than indictable offences being dealt with summarily).
>
> > (2) In this Chapter—
> >
> > registrar means, for the purposes of Part 2—
> >
> > > (a) in the case of committal proceedings before a Judge of the Local Court, a registrar of the Local Court, or
> >
> > > (b) in the case of committal proceedings before a Children’s Judge, the Children’s Registrar appointed under the [Children’s Court Act 1987](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1987-053).

> > (3) In this chapter, other than in subsection (2), definition of registrar, a reference to a Judge of the Local Court includes—

> > > (a) a Children’s Judge, and
> >
> > > (b) any other person of a class prescribed by the regulations.
