59 Bribery of Legislative Assembly member Any person who, in order to influence a member of the Legislative Assembly in the exercise of his duty or authority as a member, or in order to induce him to absent himself from the Legislative Assembly or a committee of the Legislative Assembly, gives, confers or procures, or promises or offers to give, confer or procure, property or a benefit of any kind to, upon or for the member or another, is guilty of a crime and is liable to imprisonment for 7 years.
