336 Accused person to be called upon to plead to indictment (1) An accused person is to be informed in open court of the offence with which he is charged as set forth in the indictment and may be called upon to plead to the indictment and to say whether he is guilty or not guilty of the charge. (2) The trial is deemed to begin and the accused person is deemed to be brought to trial when he is so called upon. (3) Nothing in this section prevents different Judges taking the plea of an accused person and presiding at the trial of the issues by the jury.
