205 Publishing or threatening to publish defamatory matter with intent to extort money Any person who publishes, or directly or indirectly threatens to publish, or directly or indirectly proposes to abstain from publishing, or directly or indirectly offers to prevent the publication of, any defamatory matter concerning another with intent to extort any property from such person or any other person, or with intent to induce any person to give, confer or obtain, or to attempt to obtain, to, upon or for any person any property or benefit of any kind, is guilty of an offence and is liable to imprisonment for 3 years.
