73 Concurrent and consecutive sentences—fine default offences (1) This section applies if the primary sentence is imposed in default of payment of a fine. (2) In the absence of a direction under subsection (3), the primary sentence must be served— (a) consecutively with an existing sentence in default of payment of a fine; and (b) concurrently with any other existing sentence. (3) The court may direct that the primary sentence be served concurrently or consecutively (or partly concurrently and partly consecutively) with the existing sentence.
