104 Good behaviour orders—explanation and notice to sureties (1) This section applies if the good behaviour order includes a condition that a surety give security for the offender. (2) The court must ensure that reasonable steps are taken to explain to the surety in general terms (and in language the surety can readily (a) the nature and the conditions of the order (including the amount of the security); and Part 6.3 Good behaviour orders—explanations and official notice (b) the offender’s good behaviour obligations under the Crimes (Sentence Administration) Act 2005; and (c) the consequences for the offender and the surety if the offender breaches the obligations. (3) The court must also ensure that reasonable steps are taken to give a copy of the good behaviour order to the surety.
