297 Explanation of licence (1) This section applies if the Executive grants an offender a licence. (2) The board must ensure that reasonable steps are taken to explain to the offender in general terms (and in a language that the offender can readily understand)— (a) the offender’s release on licence obligations; and (b) the consequences if the offender breaches the obligations. (3) The board must ensure that a written record of the explanation is given to the offender.
