172 Functions of board The board has the following functions: (a) the functions given to the board under the following provisions: (i) chapter 5 (Intensive correction orders); (ii) chapter 7 (Parole); (iii) part 13.1 (Release on licence); (b) on request, to provide advice to a Minister about an offender; (c) to exercise any other function given to the board under this Act or any other territory law. Note A provision of a law that gives an entity (including a person) a function also gives the entity powers necessary and convenient to exercise the function (see Legislation Act, s 196 and dict, pt 1, def entity).
