9 Meaning of serious offence and serious offender
(1) A serious offence is—
(a) an offence against a territory law punishable by imprisonment
for longer than 12 months; or
(b) an offence against the law of another participating jurisdiction
punishable by imprisonment for life or by a maximum penalty
of 2 or more years of imprisonment.
Note Another participating jurisdiction is defined in s 100.
(2) A serious offender is a person who is convicted of a serious offence.
