8 Meaning of suspect A suspect is any of the following: (a) a person suspected by a police officer, on reasonable grounds, to have committed an offence; (b) a person charged with an offence; (c) a person who has been summonsed to appear before a court for an offence; (d) a person who has entered into a voluntary agreement to attend court (VATAC) for an offence.
