#### 94 Definitions 94 Definitions > In this Part— > > appropriate court, in relation to an external protection order, means— > > > (a) the Local Court if the person against whom the order has been made is 18 or more years of age, or > > > (b) the Children’s Court if the person against whom the order has been made is less than 18 years of age, > > on the day on which an application is made under this Part for the registration of the order. > > external protection order means— > > > (a) an order made by a court of New Zealand that has been made to prevent a person from acting in a manner specified in section 16, or > > > (b) an order made by a court of another State or Territory or New Zealand that has been made to prevent a person from acting in a manner specified in section 19, or > > > (c) an order made by a court of another State or Territory or New Zealand that is of a kind prescribed by the regulations. > > registered external protection order means an external protection order registered under this Part. > > **s 94:** Am 2016 No 9, Sch 1 \[7\].
