#### 79 Duration of apprehended personal violence orders 79 Duration of apprehended personal violence orders > > (1) An apprehended personal violence order remains in force for such period as is specified in the order by the court. > > > (2) The period specified in the order by the court is to be as long as is necessary, in the opinion of the court, to ensure the safety and protection of the protected person. > > > (3) If the court fails to specify a period in the order, the order remains in force for a period of 12 months after the date that the order is made. > > > (4) This section is subject to section 73 (Variation or revocation of final apprehended violence orders and interim court orders). > > **s 79:** Am 2018 No 83, Sch 1\[4\] (am 2019 No 20, Sch 1.8\[2\] \[3\]).
