#### 297 Safety procedures on return of firearms 297 Safety procedures on return of firearms > > (1) On ceasing a duty involving the carrying of a firearm, a correctional officer must deliver the firearm (and any accompanying ammunition) to the officer in charge of the correctional centre armoury from which the firearm was drawn (unless the correctional officer has delivered it to another correctional officer by whom he or she has been relieved). > > > (2) An officer to whom a firearm is delivered must examine it, and any accompanying ammunition, in the presence of the person from whom they are received. > > > (3) The examination must include any approved procedures.
