#### 244 Suspected offences by inmates 244 Suspected offences by inmates > > (1) A correctional officer or departmental officer who suspects that an inmate has committed, or is about to commit, an offence must report that fact to the governor immediately. > > > (2) A correctional officer may confine an inmate referred to in subclause (1) to his or her cell, or in some other appropriate place of confinement, pending instructions as to how the inmate should be dealt with. > > > (3) An inmate in respect of whom one or more offences have been reported may be confined under this clause, whether for one or more periods of confinement, for no more than 48 hours in total in respect of those offences.
