253C Trafficking
> > (1) A person must not, without lawful authority, bring or attempt by any means whatever to introduce into any place of detention any spirituous or fermented liquor.

> > Maximum penalty—10 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months, or both.

> > (2) A person must not, without lawful authority, bring or attempt by any means whatever to introduce into any place of detention any poison listed in Appendix D of Schedule Four, or in Schedule Eight, of the Poisons List in force under the [Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1966-031).

> > Maximum penalty—20 penalty units or imprisonment for 2 years, or both.

> > (3) Section 40 of the [Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1966-031) applies to proceedings for an offence under subsection (2) in the same way as it applies to legal proceedings under that Act.

> > (4) A person must not, without lawful authority, bring or attempt by any means whatever to introduce into any place of detention a quantity of any prohibited drug or prohibited plant within the meaning of the [Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1985-226) that constitutes a small quantity (or constitutes less than a small quantity) of the drug or plant concerned within the meaning of that Act.

> > Maximum penalty—50 penalty units or imprisonment for 2 years, or both.

> > (5) Section 43 of the [Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act 1985](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1985-226) applies to proceedings for an offence under subsection (4) in the same way as it applies to legal proceedings under that Act.
