### 5A Person may be dealt with as if convicted in certain circumstances > [*\[Section 5A Inserted by No. 60 of 2013, s. 6, Applied:01 Mar 2014\]*](/view/html/inforce/2014-03-01/act-2013-060#GS6@EN) For the purposes of this Act, an authorized officer or appropriate court may deal with a person under this Act as if the person has been convicted of a serious offence if the person – > > > > (a) has been convicted of an offence in respect of the same events that were the basis of another person being convicted of a serious offence; and > > > > > (b) derived literary proceeds in respect of either offence.
