### 163 Duties of person responsible for restrained property or forfeited property
> [*\[Section 163 Inserted by No. 60 of 2013, s. 12, Applied:01 Mar 2014\]*](/view/html/inforce/2014-03-01/act-2013-060#GS12@EN) A person who has responsibility for the control or management of property under this Part, or under an order made under this Part, must take reasonable steps to ensure that the property is appropriately stored or managed, and that it is appropriately maintained, until one of the following happens in accordance with this Part:

> > > (a) the property is returned to the person from whom it was seized or to a person who owns it;
> >
> > > (b) another person becomes responsible for the control and management of the property;
> >
> > > (c) the property is sold or destroyed;
> >
> > > (d) the property is otherwise disposed of.
