6123 Filing documents by post
(1) This rule applies to a document filed in the court by post.
(2) The person filing the document must send the document to the
registry by prepaid post, addressed to the registrar, in an envelope
marked with a note to the effect that it contains court documents.
(3) The person filing the document must also ensure the document is
accompanied by the following:
(a) any copies of the document for sealing or stamping;
(b) a stamped envelope addressed to the person filing the document
or the person’s solicitor;
(c) if a fee is determined under the Court Procedures Act 2004,
section 13 for filing the document—the fee in a form satisfactory
to the registrar.
Rule 6124
(4) The registrar may—
stamp the document; or
(5) If the registrar records the filing of the document, the registrar must
return any copies of the document filed with the document for sealing
or stamping in the envelope provided by the person filing the
(6) If the court enters a default judgment after a request for the judgment
is filed by post, the registrar must return the default judgment in the
envelope provided by the person filing the request.
(7) A person files a document by post at the person’s risk.
