2721 Account—order for account
(1) If an account is claimed in the first instance or a claim involves taking
an account, the court may at any stage order that an account be taken.
(2) Without limiting subrule (1), the court may order that an account be
taken if—
(a) an originating application seeks the taking of an account; and
(b) the defendant fails to satisfy the court that there is a preliminary
question to be decided.
Rule 2722
(3) An order directing that an account be taken must state—
(a) the transaction or series of transactions of which the account is
to be taken; and
(b) the basis of the account; and
(c) the period of the account.
