1701 Costs—general provisions
(1) The costs that the court may award—
(a) may be awarded at any stage of a proceeding or after the
proceeding ends; and
(b) must be assessed in accordance with this part.
(2) Unless the court otherwise orders, the award of costs for an
application, or another interlocutory order, in a proceeding must not
be assessed until the proceeding ends.
Note 2 The costs of the proceeding include the costs of an application in the
proceeding, unless the court otherwise orders (see r 1721 (2) (Costs—
general rule)).
