1534 Referee—conduct under reference (1) A question or proceeding referred to a referee under rule 1531 must be conducted as if— (a) the reference were an arbitration agreement under the Commercial Arbitration Act 2017; and (b) the referee were an arbitral tribunal under that Act. (2) However, each party to the proceeding must, within a time set by the referee but before the referee has finished hearing evidence, give the referee and each other active party a brief statement of the findings of fact and law that the party says the referee should make.
