36 Escorting arrested person to court etc
(1) This section applies if a person arrested by a police officer—
(a) has not been released on bail; and
(b) is in police custody; and
(c) is required by law to be brought before a court or tribunal.
(2) A police officer may request an escort officer to bring the person
before the court or tribunal.

(3) The escort officer must bring the person before the court or tribunal
and, for that purpose, may—
(a) take the person into custody; and
(b) arrange for the person to be detained under this Act until the
person is brought before the court or tribunal.
