24 Correctional centres—declaration
(1) The Minister may declare a place to be a correctional centre.
(2) A declaration is a notifiable instrument.
Examples of declarations
1 the declaration of a place, including a buffer zone surrounding a secure
perimeter, to be a correctional centre
2 a declaration of a place to be a correctional centre for full-time detention, or
for a stated time and purpose, eg a temporary correctional centre for remandees
factors (see Legislation Act, s 48).
