215 Escape of interstate detainee (1) This section applies to an interstate detainee in the ACT under an interstate leave permit issued under a corresponding leave law. (2) If the interstate detainee escapes from lawful custody, the detainee may be arrested without warrant by— (a) an interstate escort officer for the detainee; or (b) a police officer. Division 12.2.3 Interstate leave under corresponding leave laws (3) A police officer who arrests the detainee may return the detainee to an interstate escort officer for the detainee. Note A police officer may also arrest without a warrant a person who has escaped from lawful custody or who is unlawfully at large (see Crimes Act 1900, s 212 and s 214).
